In Zimbabwe, extended periods of low rainfall and soaring temperatures have led to crops failing to grow on a huge scale. The UN has said that in early-2025 more than half of people living in rural areas of Zimbabwe will be food insecure.
This Christmas, we invite your company to help tackle the problem of hunger. Feed The Hungry UK can provide wholesome food for children in Zimbabwe for just 25p per meal.
We are looking for companies to take on a food packing challenge raising money for 10,000 meals to feed children in Zimbabwe. An investment of £2,500 provides 10,000 meals - can your team raise the money and make a real difference?
Crops have failed throughout southern-Africa due to high temperatures and low rainfall.
You can fit 285,000 rice-based meals into a shipping container - we're aiming to raise the money for a full container. So far, between all of our partnering organisations, we've got 10 meals. Can you help?
We're currently feeding over 16,000 children each school day in Zimbabwe. The rice meals in a shipping container will help to feed these children for an entire month.
Feed The Hungry runs food packing events all over the UK. We can bring all of the equipment and resources needed to pack meals to your business premises and run a food packing experience for your team.
To pack 10,000 meals will take a team of 40 people around 2 to 2.5 hours.
While £2,500 might seem out of reach, for a team of 40 people, the amount needing to be raised per person is just over £60. And if those giving can Gift Aid their contributions, it’s just £50 that needs to be raised by each team member.
